Wednesday Wines is where to begin. We have classes to get you started on your own wine journey.
Tasting Room Etiquette 101
Bring a friend by the store and ask for a quick tasting room etiquette class. We start at the most basic level of wine tasting, and how to make the most out of your experience. With a quick 20 minute introduction, we'll have you going out to local vineyards in confidence (and tasting room managers will really appreciate that you are an informed wine consumer.) Cost of class $5 with $5 tasting fee.
The Basics, Expanded: School of Wednesday Wines or (S.O.W.W. as we call her)
In this class you will learn:
- How to identify taste components in wine like sugar, acid, and tannins
- To tell the difference between a dry and off dry wine
- How to avoid common pit falls when visiting winery tasting rooms
- How to order wine with confidence at a restaurant or bar.
- How to decant wines for service at home
- What happens to wines as they age, and how to spot signs of aging
You'll also get to taste four different wines and receive 10% off any wine in our shop. We offer the class for $15 a person, or $25 for two. Sign up as a friend with us on Facebook to learn when the classes are offered, or get a group of friends together and schedule you own class.
Wine and Cheese Pairing
Check in with Abby and Oliver's to learn more about this fun class. We pair up four cheeses with four wines and teach you the basics of how to match up this pair that are made for each other.
The Theology of Wine
One of our owners is an ordained minister. He offers periodic classes on the theme of wine and the Bible. He is also available to come to your group, or town to share his presentation on the subject.
