Our Mission
We exist to share our love of wine with other people. Wine is health food—it’s good for you. We hope that with our prices you’ll be able to enjoy it every day of the week (even Wednesday) We believe in the beautiful, vital downtown area of McMinnville. We are delighted to be members of the Downtown Association.
We are committed to sharing with those in our community who are hurting and suffering. To this end we give 10% of our proceeds (after we meet our basic costs for the shop) to charity. Here are the charities that we support:
- CASA—Court Appointed Special Advocates
- McMinnville Area Habitat For Humanity: Habitat is a local organization that builds houses with people in need. They require the future owners of the homes to work on the houses when they are under construction (what Habitat calls sweat equity.) Then the houses are sold at zero interest. We love Habitat! Many of the fixtures in the shop came from the Habitat ReStore.
- Juliette’s House
- Compassionate Soup! This is a joint fund raising effort for the Saint Barnabas Soup Kitchen, and the McMinnville Cooperative Ministries Community Compassion Fund. Several people in our community noticed how strained these two groups were in trying to help and every widening flood of people who are in desperate situations. The soup kitchen is averaging over a hundred meals a night, and the applications to the Community Compassion Fund have increased ten fold in two years.
